A 26 year-old woman presents to your office complaining of milky white discharge from both her nipples. Over the last year her menstrual periods had become irregular and for the last 4 months, she has not had a period at all. Her interest in sex has decreased. She constantly worries about being pregnant. She does desire to have children in the future, but not now. Her father died of cardiovascular disease and mother of unknown cancer. The laboratory tests reveal increased prolactin level and decreased LH and FSH levels. MRI of the brain showed a 1.8 cm pituitary mass. What is the most appropriate next step in the management of this patient?
